Code of Ethics

We believe ethics start with empathy, and a solid blowout never hurts. This Code is our promise to treat everyone with respect, integrity, and just the right amount of hairspray.

Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. In general, refusal of service is only justified in cases where a customer’s presence interferes with the safety and well-being of ourselves, other patrons, or the establishment itself.

Tipping

We are proud to be a NO TIP - fair wage facility!
 

What this means for our clients is upfront pricing and a clear understanding of the cost of services. What it means for us as stylists is having benefits that are uncommon for our careers, including: a regular pay check well above industry standard, paid vacation, health insurance, and more.

 

Why would we opt out of something that is seemly normal in our industry, you might ask? History tells us that tipping is a fundamentally flawed practice, deeply rooted in racism and slavery. Instead, we set our prices to cover our cost of time and services, and created our business model to support us as stylists. Rather than a tip, the best way to thank us is to refer your friends and family and to reserve your next appointment.

Book by length

How long is long? When you book by length, here's how to tell.
- Short: Between a pixie and the bottom of your ears

- Medium: Between your ears and the tops of your shoulders

- Extra Length/Density: If it passes your shoulders or If your ponytail is bigger around than an inch

This appointment structure allows us for the time needed to get your hair sculpted just the way you want it.
We don't charge extra for texture! Book your curly cut based on the length of of your curls when they are resting, not stretched.

Age Requirements

For a child to receive a haircut in the salon, we require that they be able to sit still in the chair by themselves. This is a great time for screen time to be involved however, we may ask that you hold the screen so their head is at the right angle. 

For kids 13 and over, they have more hair than a young child and typically want an adult haircut. If you feel this doesn't apply to your older kid, please schedule a consultation.

Cancellation

We understand that life happens, and appointments sometimes must be cancelled. If you need to cancel or reschedule any appointment, please give us a minimum of 24 hours notice. Multiple late cancellation or no shows may result in a refusal of service, dependent on circumstance.

Late Service

Everyone's time is valuable. We ask that you respect this space by showing up on time. If you are more than 15 minutes late we may need to reschedule your appointment. 

That being said, sometimes salon services may run over and affect the start time of your appointment. We will do our best to inform you if we are running late for your appointment. If we are running more than15 minutes late, we will offer a 25% discount on services.

We want everyone to be healthy!

We follow all CDC and government guidelines pertaining to Covid-19 and any future health concerns or pandemic outbreaks as required by law. We are also Barbicide Covid-19 Certified and maintain rigorous cleaning standards to protect ourselves and our clients.

That being said, please do not come to your appointment if you are feeling sick or coming down with an illness. The rule of thumb is: If you wouldn't want to hug a person that has the symptoms you currently have, please don't come in. We maintain the same rule for ourselves. We do not work sick. Please call if you're unsure. There are no charges for late cancellations if you are sick.

Seven Day Service Guarantee

We guarantee all services for seven days. If you're unhappy with your service for any reason, please let us know within seven days and we will schedule a time to make it right.
